I always get the strip or ribeye.. Medium rare extra char. Ask for Charles to be your waiter if possible. Very attentive and friendly. We also made the mistake of going to dine here when there was a protest going on down the street.. The staff here pulled out all the stops to make it still an enjoyable dinner. Well done!! Love this place. Oh boy. Here it goes. I'll try to spare you the gross details, but I got incredibly sick eating here. I think if I had to guess what it was that did me over, I would guess the roasted mushrooms side dish. Of the 2 of us, I ate the most mushrooms and even went in to help him finish his. There were some good points: 1. Handwritten note to my dad for his bday - this was a nice touch. Duck fat fries trio - a comp starter, this was lovely. Editions Atlas: exclusieve verzamelingen, mooie boeken, praktische kaarten, prachtige miniaturen voor de doorwinterde Ambiance - beautiful space, dimmed lighting- - very romantic. Drink list - great selection of beer and wine. But ultimately, here other things that led to my 2 star review: 1. They expressed no open tables at 7: 3. They sat us right away and the place was pretty empty.
These were really fishy tasting. Again, tasted fishy and not much flavor on the fish at all. But I guess this is what I get for ordering fish at a steak place right? Overall - For a $7. I expect not to get bed- riddenly sick. During a break at the conference I was attending, my wife and I had a great lunch at Arcadia. Even for lunch the staff here are very professional and the food is on par with what I would expect by the dinner chefs. I had the crab cake sandwich ($2. The fries that came with it were excellent as well. My wife had the market salad with seared tuna ($2. There was a nice amount of tuna as well. I'd like to try Arcadia for dinner as lunch was excellent. The steak here is Priced like Mortons.. My rating is for their dessert and dessert only. The salted Carmel ice cream matched with the milk chocolate lava was Devine! So much lava I will definitely keep them in mind next time I am in craving and to lazy to make it myself : )If there is one thing I don't need in my life, its complimentary Duck Fat Fries. I started with an order of the Butternut Squash Soup. Valet parking with validation making it only $4. The restaurant was very modern and the customer service from all the employees - - from the valet person, to the hotel workers, until you walk into the actual restaurant was excellent. As first timers we ordered the lobster corn dogs which my toddler loved and we shared an 1. The steak was a perfect medium rare and came with a huge portion of duck fat fries and a salad. We ordered the chicken strips from the kids menu and it was also a generous portion for a kid! We had a very pleasant experience and will definitely be back to try dinner here. NO LOBSTER ROLLS! I was really hoping for better! YELPERS yelp about the lobster roll. I was all ready to get one. I was told they haven't had lobster rolls for over 2 years!! Very disappointed. Great restaurant by Michael Mina! Arcadia delivers as a nice place for an affordable special occasion dinner- -- Amuse bouche: duck fat fries 3 ways with 3 sauces. Good & perfect since we were going to order the full dish of this to try anyways- -- oysters rockefeller: nothing special - -- chilean sea bass: nice light dish, loved the crispy layer encrusting the melt in your mouth fish- -- wagyu: a flavorful & tender piece of beef from the grill menu- -- truffle mac & cheese side: good but nothing ground breaking- -- smashed potatoes side: GET IT, perfect crust on the outside, nice & salty! The restaurant was still pretty empty when we arrived but full when we left. Not sure because it was empty when I came that I felt it was very spacious or the class wall showing street view gave me that feeling. The light was dimmed creating a very romantic vibe. Food- we kind of shared our food just so everyone can have a taste of everything. Arcadia sald - it carries the restaurant's name so better be good. I'm not a fan of blue cheese so I don't appreciate this dish as much as my dad who loves blue cheese. I thought this salad was okay. Grilled salmon - we all enjoyed this grilled to perfect salmon dish. Salmon was still juicy and not dry at all. The fish was definitely fresh. Bay scallop - not the best i've had but pretty good. Ribeye steak - my husband didn't think it was that great but I thought it was good or one of the good ones that i've tried. But I have to agree that I've had better ribeye elsewhere. Lobster pot pie - Michael Mina's signature dish. I think it is definitely the high light of our dinner. I was impressed with everything about this dish. The skin of the pie was so perfect and the inside was so good. It is very rich thou but so delicious. Lamb Rack - a little too rare to my liking but juicy and tasty. I would highly recommend. The boyfriend surprised me for our 5 year anniversary and made reservations that were quite flexible as we arrived 4. We called them to let them know in advance of course. They only validate if you park at Mariott apparently, I forget which one. It was a little awkward cause we went through the door where it wasn't the main entrance I suppose and the host desk was facing the bar. No one was there and we made our way up, eventually a host came and greeted us to confirm that we had a reservation. We got seated in the back by the clear glass windows. Loved that it was dim and candlelight by the tables. Our server took some time to get to us. Menu was simple and straight forward. Kinda wish they talked about popular dishes and what not. Pricy and small portions. For a Saturday night, it wasn't that busy at all. Their drink menu had so much to choose from though. They gave us complimentary fries with 3 different sauces, nothing special. Apparently my clueless boyfriend didn't know what tartare was. I hate raw fish and the beef was even worst, he was trying to be a gentleman and order for us. Well that backfired : X He ended up eating majority of the beef and I sucked it up with the tuna. For entrees, I got the braised short ribs, it literally cut like butter when you barely touch the meat. So tender, but sadly some fatty pieces were found in the middle. The dish looked messy with the horseradish sauce, some sprinkles of seasoning and the carrots and onions. Meat was good, presentation needs some work! The boyfriend got the skirt steak that looked burnt even though it was medium, tasted flavorless. We had a side of mac n cheese that had a metallic taste to it unfortunately, it also had broccoli in it, interesting.. The staff was nice enough to say congrats to our anniversary though and even brought out a card that was signed and written by them, so that made up for things sorta. Overall, overpriced food for small portions. I definitely could have made the exact same skirt steak though, LOL. I wish we would have gone with the Lobster Pot Pie instead. I was scared to order the more expensive dishes like the Porterhouse /: I guess it was a miss for us this time around /: Came here for a work lunch. For the price, it should have had more chicken. I mean, Costco salads are cheaper and have way more chicken, just saying. I also felt like they were being a little stingy with the avocado. Come on. The wait for the food was a little longer than I would've liked, but not unexpected considering we were a large group. But my water glass was always filled before it emptied, so thumbs up for that. For a restaurant with such nice decor, it should have good food to match. At least I didn't get food poisoning though. Located right inside the Marriott in Downtown San Jose, Arcadia is a solid steak house and a great place for a quiet dinner. Food: I decided to order the New York Strip Steak with the Dungeness Crab Oscar(crab topping over the steak with a Bearnaise sauce) while my friend ordered the Filet Mignon with a side of whipped potatoes. Overall Experience: Arcadia is a solid steak house with a great menu and amazing staff. It is a Mina, but we were underwhelmed at every turn. The derived was lack luster at best, the food was ok and the price is exactly what you'd expect from a signature steakhouse anchored in a hotel. There are plenty of options beyond the lobby of your hotel, I'd recommend getting out and trying one of them. It's the restaurant inside the Marriott. A pretty big one, I must say. Nice decor and ambience. Loved my crab sandwich and fries. The bread bun was absolutely fresh and crisp, and the crab was exquisite! Was there on a Wednesday afternoon and it was pretty empty. They have a valet parking and you can even get it validated. Your typical American, steakhouse. I am surprised this is a Michael Mina restaurant. The decor is nice and the service is very attentive. We came in around 9: 3. Ordered: 1) Cheese and Charcuterie Board: 2. True disappointment. The board itself was OK, but for the price, I would expect some more cheese and meat. Ahi Tuna Tartare: 3/5 fairly good. Iceberg BLT Wedge salad: 2. Great selection of wine by the glass and Moscow mule. Delicious! They really made my birthday special, with extras (wine, dessert) we hadn't ordered. Not only did our server regularly check on us and offer great suggestions, others came by to make sure we didn't need anything as well. There was a bit of a party in the bar, but we were seated over by the windows and it was nice and relaxed. My only recommendation is to valet your car with the Marriott, rather than trying to park yourself in the garage. The valet is free and it's easier than trying to navigate between the garage, convention center, and hotel. Went for dinner with 3 guests on a Friday night. One of the worst dinners I've ever had! I came here for dinner with my co- worker after a training in DTSJ. Given there isn't much to choose from walking distance from our hotel, we chose Aracdia.
